Muscle Testing
What is it?
Muscle Testing is the technique of testing the strength or weakness of a muscle. It is also known as Applied Kiniesiology.
How do you do it?
The Traditional method is to use the muscle break or arm test, where the tester applys force to the subject's arm untill the arm is forced down. The tester then has a very subjective measure of the force required.
Instruments are now available to measure the muscle force more accurately. It has been discovered that the force the muscle produces is affected by many things.
What is it used for?
This technique has been taught to chiropractors for over a decade. George Goodhart,D.C. has been one of the chief proponents of the approach. Another chiropractor, John Thie, developed the technique further and discovered that the relative strength of different muscles is associated with specific glands and organs. When the client puts a finger on a particular gland or organ and the muscle strength is tested, it will be weaker if that gland or organ is malfunctioning. This system is called "Touch for Health", and has been widely taught for some years. Other people found that foods, vitamins, herbs, and other substances as well as thoughts and emotions also affected the strength of muscles. This system has come to be called Applied Kiniesiology.
What equipment do I need?
An instrument that measures the strength of muscles is required.
Either a professional instrument such as the Electronic Muscle Tester
or a simple instrument such as the
Easy Muscle Tester
