Chronic Pain
Chronic Pain is pain that lasts and unlike normal pain it does not go away once an injury is over.
The pain may have orignally been caused by an injury of some type or there may be an ongoing cause, such as arthritis, sometimes there does not seem to have been any injury at all.
Older adults are the most affected and these people often have on going headaches, low back pain, and arthritis pain.
Many different treatments are used to relieve the pain, Pain Killers, TENS, acupuncture, Psychotherapy, relaxation, Magnetic devices and Biofeedback are all used.
General relaxation using
temperature training
helps to ease body tension and helps relieve the pain and also improves the blood flow to the limbs.
Magnetic therapy
is used to relieve the pain especially arthritic joint pain.
Many people use permanent magnets which they find effective however more benefit is gained by using pulsed magnetic fields.
These can be used for a short time every day.
They stimulate the blood flow and reduces the inflammation arround the joints easing the pain.
The pulsed magnetic field also has a relaxing action and improves sleep.
