Biofeedback is a way of learning to change the body's responses in a way that improves health. This is usually done using electronic instruments that measure and indicate various things that are happening in the body.
As a person goes through life they learn different ways of responding to events that they are exposed to. This may be as simple as tensing some muscles while standing and may have no effect on a person's health.
However many people learn (without being aware of it) responses that have a negative effect on their health.
For example a person may develop high blood pressure as a response to stress.
It is also used to improve and restore the body's normal responses after injury.
How is it used?
